Saturday, was a great day for a hike. It was nice and cool with a light breeze. It had been over two years since we hiked up to Ranger Peak from the E. Robinson trail head. The 2006 rains altered the the area quite a bit, but thanks to the mountain bikers, we found a trail that led us all the way to the top.
Sundays hike was absolutely beautiful! Many thanks to Ken Steiner for organizing and leading this hike. Filmore Canyon is a beautiful canyon. At the Dripping Springs Visitor's Center, we had an unexpect surprise. There was a beautiful Ring-Tailed cat in a tree just outside the front door. After posing for a few phtos, the Ring-Tail cat departed the area.
On Monday, we hiked Achenback Canyon. It had been at least two years since I hiked in Achenback Canyon. I had forgotten just how nice the area is. The dry waterfall has always been my favorite.
If you can only do one hike this weekend, it should be Filmore Canyon. The area is stunningly beautiful.
