The Hubbell Canyon to Bluff Springs hike is very scenic, and camping in those surroundings just can't be beat. This would be an excellent trip for you and your wife to start backpacking. Much of the trail is along gently rolling terrain and follows an old railroad grade. The camp site is flat, and has lots of firewood available. Hopefully, the fire danger will be low enough for us to have a campfire and roast a few marsh mellows.

Everyone will end up at Bluff Springs, and we shuttle everyone or just drivers back to the Hubbell Canyon trail head. There is water along the trail, but for an overnighter, its just easier to carry three liters of water, and you will most likely drink at least one liter as we hike to the camp site. The closest water to the campsite is at Bluff Springs which is about three miles away.

There are about three or four trail junctions along the route to the camp site, which lies near another junction to the trail that leads down to Bluff Springs. The camp site is about three miles from Bluff Springs, so we don't have a long hike the following morning, and is mostly all downhill.

Sorry for the confusion. The description of the hike was just a quick "info-mercial" of the upcoming trip. The details of the hikes and camping trips are normally published about a week before the event. I hope this clears things up a bit.
